Legacy - Past, Present & Future

Dr. Lisa Roy is an emerging writer. She has published with the Linden Review, Brevity's nonfiction blog, Essay Daily's Midwessay, and Spoken Black Girl Magazine. Her day job is as the executive director for the Colorado Department of Early Childhood. She has a doctorate in Leadership for Educational Equity with an emphasis on Executive Leadership and most recently completed the graduate certificate in an advanced writing program at the University of Nebraska Omaha. As a mother, grandmother, and genealogist, family history and stories are central to her craft.

Lisa is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, and has lived in New York City, Washington, DC, Omaha, and Denver.
